Linux 6.19 Kernel Merges PCIe Encryption, AMD SEV-TIO, NVIDIA VFIO DMA-BUF

The Linux 6.19 kernel has recently integrated several significant updates for hardware security and virtualization. Over the weekend, infrastructure for PCI Express (PCIe) link encryption and device authentication was added. This foundational work supports ongoing efforts by multiple vendors for PCIe link encryption and begins enabling AMD SEV-TIO Trusted I/O support in the mainline kernel. Simultaneously, NVIDIA contributed DMA-BUF support for VFIO PCI devices, which "opens up some interesting new cases moving forward" for virtualization and device pass-through, as reported by Phoronix. These additions improve security and flexibility for various hardware configurations within the Linux ecosystem.
