Linux 6.19 Identifies 52.4% Scheduler Regression, Fix Underway

The Linux 6.19 kernel, with its 6.19-rc2 release candidate emerging on December 22, 2025, has encountered notable scheduler performance issues. A significant 52.4% scheduler regression has been identified, impacting overall system performance. Phoronix reported that "The Linux 6.19 kernel has been a bit bumpy in the scheduler department but at least one fix is on the way for addressing fallout." Developers are actively working on a solution to address this performance degradation, with a fix expected to be integrated soon for the kernel version targeting a stable release in early February.
