Boiling Steam successfully ran Civilization 6 on the OrangePi 6 Plus single-board computer using a combination of Box64 and Proton. This achievement was facilitated by a new Ubuntu 24.04 distribution for the OrangePi 6 Plus, which was released by OrangePi at the end of December 2025. Previous attempts to run Steam via Box64 on the device's official Debian distribution had been unsuccessful. Boiling Steam noted, "using the new Ubuntu 24.04 Distro for the OrangePi 6 Plus, released by OrangePi at the end of December 2025, I tried my luck again and compiled Box64 again." This development highlights progress in enabling x86-based game compatibility on ARM Linux platforms, enhancing the gaming viability of single-board computers.
