Linux 7.0 Git Receives First Fixes, Enhancing AMDGPU Support for Older Radeon GPUs
The Linux 7.0 kernel recently received its initial round of fixes for its Direct Rendering Manager (DRM) graphics drivers. Merged into Linux 7.0 Git yesterday, on February 21, 2026, these updates primarily address the AMDGPU driver. The changes include "more enhancements for aging Radeon graphics processors," as reported by Phoronix. These fixes follow the main set of DRM kernel graphics driver feature updates for Linux 7.0 that were incorporated last week. The aim of these updates is to improve the stability and performance for older AMD Radeon hardware within the upcoming kernel release.
