Google to Release Official Chrome ARM64 Binaries for Linux in Q2 2026
Google announced on March 12, 2026, that it will begin providing official Chrome web browser binaries for ARM64 Linux devices. This release, anticipated in Q2 2026, addresses a long-standing gap for users running Linux on ARM-based hardware, such as Raspberry Pi boards or Snapdragon X Elite laptops. Previously, these users were limited to installing Chromium, the open-source project that forms the basis of Chrome, rather than an an officially supported Google build. The move will standardize access to Chrome's features and services across a wider range of Linux architectures.
