AMD MLIR-AIE 1.3 Released, Introduces AIECC C++ Compiler for Ryzen AI NPUs
AMD has released LLVM and MLIR.">MLIR-AIE v1.3 today, advancing its compiler toolchain for AMD AI Engine devices, including Ryzen AI NPUs. This update introduces the AIECC C++ compiler, designed to facilitate the deployment of new workloads on these specialized processors. The MLIR-AIE toolchain leverages LLVM-based code generation within the Multi-Level Intermediate Representation (MLIR) framework. This development is crucial as Ryzen AI NPUs are already running Large Language Models (LLMs) on Linux, notably with the recent debuts of Lemonade 10.0 server and FastFlowLM 0.9.35, both of which added Linux support. The new compiler aims to further streamline the integration of such advanced AI workloads.
