GNOME 50 Nautilus Discontinues Direct Google Drive File System Access
GNOME 50, which is included in the Ubuntu 26.04 LTS Beta released yesterday, has removed direct integration for accessing Google Drive files within the Nautilus file manager. This change means users can no longer remotely mount and browse their Google Drive content from Nautilus. While GNOME Online Accounts (GOA) continues to support Google account integration for services like contacts, mail, and calendar, "the toggle to give access to files is now gone," according to OMG! Ubuntu. This impacts users who relied on this functionality for file management within the GNOME desktop environment.
