Opera GX Linux Now Available on Flathub and Snap Store
Opera GX, the web browser designed for gamers, is now officially available through the Canonical Snap Store and Flathub. This move simplifies the installation process for Linux users, as the browser previously required manual installation after its debut Linux release in March 2026. The new availability ensures that all of Opera GX's distinct features are accessible on the Linux platform. These include granular resource controls for CPU, RAM, and network usage, customizable background sounds and themes, eye-candy like web shaders, and a "Hot Tabs Killer" feature that automatically closes resource-intensive tabs. The distribution via Snap and Flathub aims to broaden access to the browser's specialized feature set, which has proven popular on Windows and macOS.
