Zorin OS 18.1 Released, Adds Ubuntu HWE Kernel and New Lite Edition

Zorin OS 18.1, the first point release to Zorin OS 18, is now available. Released today, approximately six months after the initial Zorin OS 18 launch, this update builds upon its Ubuntu 24.04 LTS base. It incorporates desktop refinements, updated software, and a new kernel derived from the recent Ubuntu Hardware Enablement (HWE) stack provided by Canonical. A new Zorin OS Lite edition also launched today, designed for older or lower-specification hardware. This nimble version utilizes a customized Xfce desktop environment, offering an alternative to the standard GNOME Shell found in the primary Zorin OS release. The original Zorin OS 18 has accumulated over 3.3 million downloads since its debut.
