Linux 7.1 Fixes Steam Deck OLED Audio After Two Years of Upstream Kernel Breakage

A fix is being incorporated into Linux 7.1 to address a long-standing audio issue affecting the Steam Deck OLED handheld when running the mainline Linux kernel. The audio functionality for the Steam Deck OLED has been non-operational on upstream kernels since a specific AMD ASoC audio change was merged in late 2023, which was part of the Linux 6.8 development cycle. This issue exclusively impacted the OLED model, leaving the original LCD model unaffected. While Valve's SteamOS kernel and other distributions supporting the Steam Deck OLED have previously implemented their own patches to mitigate the problem, a permanent upstream solution is now available ahead of the Linux 7.1-rc2 release.
