Flatpak 1.17.7 was released today, continuing to advance open-source application sandboxing and distribution on the Linux desktop. This update introduces several new features, prominently including the ability to "track the age of configurations for providing much better performance," according to Phoronix. This enhancement aims to optimize app loading and runtime efficiency by leveraging configuration metadata. An updated XDG-Desktop-Portal release is also included with Flatpak 1.17.7.
