AMDGPU Linux Driver Updates Add HDMI 2.1 DSC and FRL Support

AMD has updated its AMDGPU kernel driver patches to include support for HDMI 2.1 Display Stream Compression (DSC) alongside the previously introduced Fixed Rate Link (FRL) functionality. The initial HDMI 2.1 FRL patches were posted at the beginning of May 2026. These updated patches enable the open-source AMDGPU driver to leverage HDMI 2.1's full capabilities, facilitating higher resolutions and refresh rates for displays connected via HDMI. This integration brings modern display interface features to the Linux platform for AMD GPU users.
