Cinnamon Desktop Developing Native Screenshot Tool for CSD/SSD Handling

Linux Mint developers are currently building a new, native screenshot utility for the Cinnamon desktop environment. This tool is being developed ahead of Cinnamon's next major release to enhance screenshot capabilities. The primary goal is to provide users with more options and to "accommodate the differences between CSD (Client Side Decoration) and SSD (Server Side Decoration) windows" for "cleaner" looking screenshots, as reported by OMG! Ubuntu. Currently, Cinnamon utilizes the GTK-based gnome-screenshot tool. While functional, this existing utility does not correctly render shadows when capturing windowed application screenshots within the Cinnamon environment.
