ANGLE Merges Wayland Support; Chromium Embedded Framework Gains Native Wayland
Google's ANGLE project has recently merged support for Wayland. This development is reported to unblock native Wayland compatibility for the Chromium Embedded Framework (CEF). The integration of Wayland support into ANGLE means that applications utilizing CEF will now be able to benefit from native Wayland operation. This move facilitates a more direct and efficient display server protocol interaction for a range of CEF-based software on Linux Wayland environments. Phoronix stated that "It looks like Google's Chromium Embedded Framework 'CEF' could finally be enjoying nice native Wayland support soon!".
