Valve published the May 2026 Steam Survey results yesterday. The data indicates that Linux's share of the Steam gaming market is "just under 4%", according to Phoronix, following a delay in the survey's release. This represents a decrease from the 4.52% recorded for April and the recent peak of 5.33% observed in March. Despite this recent decline, the current market share remains significantly higher than the 2% or less figures that characterized Steam on Linux for many years prior to these recent trends.
