Flathub Policy Update Bans AI-Generated Application Code and Content
Flathub, the primary distribution platform for Flatpak applications, announced a policy change regarding software developed using artificial intelligence tools. Effective today, June 6, 2026, the store will no longer permit "applications containing AI-generated or AI-assisted code, documentation, or other content." This change aims to regulate automated submissions and the inclusion of AI-produced elements in new projects. The policy includes a carve-out, allowing mature projects that incorporate AI code to remain on the platform. This move signifies a shift in content moderation for the popular Linux app store.
