AMD Radeon Developer Tool Suite Updates RGP 2.7 with Shader Source, Extended PIX Markers
AMD GPUOpen recently announced an update to its Radeon Developer Tool Suite. The release delivers RGP 2.7, which now includes "shader source code viewing" and instruction-level divergence metrics. These new capabilities allow developers to analyze shader execution and pinpoint performance bottlenecks directly within the source code, offering a deeper understanding of GPU workload behavior. RGP 2.7 further enhances debugging with support for Extended PIX Markers, enabling more granular annotation of GPU command streams. The update also features expanded hardware compatibility and general improvements across other tools in the suite, including RGD, RRA, RMV, RGA, and RDP. This aims to streamline GPU performance analysis and debugging workflows for developers working with Radeon hardware.
