Linux 7.2 Improves File-System Case-Folding Communication for Windows NFS

Recently, code was merged into the in-development Linux 7.2 kernel to improve file-system case-folding communication. This update allows Linux file servers to accurately report whether local file systems support case-folding. The change is intended to address situations where servers currently guess case-folding behavior. By exposing this information, Linux-based file servers, particularly those interacting with Windows NFS clients, can communicate the actual file system characteristics, preventing potential inconsistencies or issues related to file name casing.
