Linux 7.2 Early Benchmarks Reveal Network/Socket Gains on AMD EPYC Sorano

Phoronix published early benchmark results this week for the upcoming Linux 7.2 kernel. Testing conducted by Michael Larabel on AMD EPYC Sorano systems indicated "some local network/socket performance improvements." This finding was noted as an unexpected outcome, as the merge window for Linux 7.2 is scheduled to conclude this weekend. Beyond these network enhancements, Linux 7.2 is also slated to include new features such as cache aware scheduling.
