Proton 11.0-1 Stable Released, Expanding Windows Game Compatibility on Linux
Wine, that allows Windows games to run on Linux through Steam Play.">Proton 11.0-1 was released today as the newest stable major version of Valve's compatibility layer. This update powers Steam Play, enhancing the Windows gaming experience across Linux systems and the Steam Deck. The release adds several previously unplayable titles to its compatibility list, including X-Plane 12, Gothic 1 Classic, Breath of Fire IV, and Deadly Premonition. Additionally, titles that previously required Proton Experimental are now officially playable with Proton 11.0-1. These include Universe Generator: The Golden Sword, DCS World Steam Edition, Resident Evil (1996), Resident Evil 2 (1998), and Warhammer: Vermintide 2. Specific bug fixes in this version address video playback in She Sees Red, rendering of certain symbols with Ukrainian language in Chambers, and voice chat in Phasmophobia. It also improves the rendering of Rockstar Launcher popups and fixes a black screen issue in Sea of Solitude.
