Raspberry Pi 5 IOMMU Driver Nears Mainline Linux Kernel Integration
Work is currently underway to adapt the Raspberry Pi 5 IOMMU driver for inclusion in the mainline Linux kernel. The Raspberry Pi 5, which launched over two and a half years ago, has notably lacked a dedicated IOMMU driver in the upstream kernel. Developers are now porting the existing downstream IOMMU driver, with the aim of integrating it into mainline Linux. This development is expected to enhance the device's overall support and functionality within the principal Linux kernel.
