The Portable Computing Language (PoCL) project has released version 7.2 today. This update introduces official OpenCL 3.0 conformance for both x86_64 and RISC-V processors. PoCL is an MIT-licensed, portable OpenCL implementation designed to run across various CPU architectures and also targets other GPUs and hardware through its LLVM back-ends. The achieved OpenCL 3.0 conformance indicates that these CPU targets now fully comply with the latest OpenCL specification, enhancing their suitability for parallel computing tasks.
