NVIDIA has published a set of 13 patches to the Linux kernel mailing list today. These patches introduce a NVIDIA vGPU manager and a VFIO variant driver. This initiative expands the functionality of the open-source, upstream Nova kernel graphics driver within the Linux kernel. The addition of vGPU and VFIO capabilities aims to improve support for virtualized GPU environments and direct passthrough of hardware resources to virtual machines, leveraging the Nova driver's integration.
