VK_EXT_present_timing Enables State-of-the-Art Frame Pacing in Vulkan

Khronos recently published a blog post detailing VK_EXT_present_timing, a Vulkan extension focused on delivering state-of-the-art frame pacing for smoother, more consistent animation. This extension integrates two primary features: the capability for Vulkan devices to receive precise timing feedback regarding previous presentation requests, and the ability for applications to explicitly set a target presentation time for each new request. Khronos emphasized that "It is the combination of these features that enables applications to achieve smooth, consistent animation," allowing for more refined control over frame delivery and visual fluidity in Vulkan applications.
