Khronos Details VK_EXT_present_timing for State-of-the-Art Vulkan Frame Pacing

The Khronos Group today published a blog post detailing the VK_EXT_present_timing Vulkan extension, which aims to deliver state-of-the-art frame pacing for graphical applications. The extension integrates two key capabilities: receiving timing feedback from previous presentation requests and explicitly setting a target presentation time for each new request. According to the Khronos Group, "It is the combination of these features that enables applications to achieve smooth, consistent animation." This mechanism allows developers to more precisely control frame delivery, reducing visual inconsistencies and improving overall responsiveness in Vulkan-based software.
