FFmpeg 8.1, the latest stable release of the widely-used open-source multimedia library, was released today. This new version introduces experimental support for xHE-AAC MPS212. Additionally, FFmpeg 8.1 includes further enhancements to its Vulkan acceleration capabilities. This update provides new codec support and improved hardware utilization for multimedia processing workflows that rely on the library.
