Sway 1.12-rc1 Lands with HDR10/Vulkan, Window Capture; wlroots 0.20 Released

The wlroots project released version 0.20 today, a significant update to the Wayland support library that handles core compositor functionality. This release lays the groundwork for advanced features in Wayland compositors. Following wlroots 0.20, Sway developers issued Sway 1.12-rc1 for testing, which depends on wlroots 0.20.0. Sway 1.12-rc1 introduces several key features, including support for capturing individual windows and HDR10 when utilizing the Vulkan renderer. It also adds compatibility for new protocols like color-management-v1, color-representation-v1, xdg-toplevel-tag-v1, ext-workspace-v1, and wl_fixes. A notable change is that Sway "no longer refuses to start on unsupported GPUs (e.g. NVIDIA proprietary drivers)," broadening its compatibility. Additionally, a new --device-primaries option for output color_profile allows using color primaries advertised in EDID.
