LunarG today released the results of its 2026 Vulkan Ecosystem Survey, an annual check-in with the Vulkan developer community. The survey saw a nearly 30% increase in participation, with 360 respondents compared to 279 in 2025. Feedback came from a mix of commercial developers (49%) and those engaged in self-study or academic settings (51%). The respondents represent an experienced group, with 71% identifying as regular, advanced, or expert Vulkan developers, similar to the 72% reported in 2025. Commercial users showed an even stronger leaning towards advanced and expert levels. These insights are intended to "guide priorities for the Vulkan SDK, validation layers, tools, and broader ecosystem improvements," helping to shape the future development of the Vulkan platform.
