Intel Jay Shader Compiler Merged into Mesa 26.1-devel for ANV/Iris Drivers
Intel's new shader compiler, codenamed "Jay," was merged into the Mesa 26.1-devel branch earlier today. This compiler is designed for Intel GPUs running on Linux, specifically supporting their ANV Vulkan and Iris Gallium3D drivers. Phoronix reported that "While still very experimental, that initial Jay compiler code was merged today for Mesa 26.1-devel." The public introduction of Jay as an in-development compiler for Intel GPUs occurred just a few days prior to its integration. This marks an initial step for Intel in evolving its open-source graphics stack's shader compilation strategy.
