D7VK 1.9 Improves Direct3D 7/6/5/3 Performance via Vulkan

The D7VK project released version 1.9 today, bringing notable performance improvements to its Direct3D 7, 6, 5, and 3 implementation over Vulkan. Phoronix reported that D7VK 1.9 "brings some hefty performance improvements." This translation layer allows older Windows games that rely on these vintage Direct3D APIs to be rendered using the modern Vulkan API. The update aims to enhance the experience of running these legacy titles on contemporary Linux systems by leveraging Vulkan for improved efficiency.
