Collabora Details Rust-Based Tyr Progress for Vulkan on Mali CSF GPUs

Collabora published a blog post yesterday, May 14, detailing the continued development of its Rust-based "Tyr" project, focusing on the CSF (Command Stream Frontend) architecture for Arm Mali GPUs. The article provides insight into the progress made since the initial MCU firmware boot, which was covered in previous updates. The latest work on Tyr is building the critical infrastructure required to execute real Vulkan workloads on Mali CSF GPUs. Collabora is now establishing the "group, queue, VM, submission, and completion paths," which are foundational components for a fully functional GPU driver. This advancement is a key step towards achieving comprehensive open-source Vulkan support for these specific Arm Mali GPU designs.
