FEX 2607 Released with Optimizations for Future ARM 256-bit SVE2 Hardware
The FEX Emulator, which enables running x86/x86_64 Linux software on ARM64 (AArch64) systems, has released its newest monthly feature update, FEX 2607. Released this month, FEX 2607 introduces additional optimizations and improvements. A key focus of this release is on optimizing for yet-to-be-released ARM 256-bit SVE2 hardware. This Valve-backed project aims to facilitate the execution of x86_64 games and other software, including applications leveraging Wine and Valve's Steam Play (Proton), on ARM-based platforms such as the forthcoming Steam Frame and other ARM Linux systems. The update prepares FEX for enhanced performance on future ARM architectures.
