The Khronos Group recently announced that Xiaomi Corporation has joined as a Contributor Member. Xiaomi, a global leader in consumer electronics, smartphones, and AIoT platforms, brings its substantial ecosystem, reaching approximately 685.8 million monthly active users in September 2024 and 861.4 million smart devices, to the consortium. This membership enables Xiaomi to directly participate in the development and evolution of open standards such as Vulkan, OpenCL, and OpenXR. Xiaomi's involvement is expected to contribute its diverse hardware and software expertise to Khronos working groups, potentially shaping future specifications relevant to graphics, compute, and immersive media across its wide product range.
