GOverlay 1.8.10 Enhances Flatpak, OptiScaler, VkBasalt/VkSumi Integration
GOverlay, the open-source utility for managing Vulkan overlay applications, recently released version 1.8.10, focusing on stability and integration enhancements. For AppImage users, the update integrates cmem memory allocation and guards thread creation against runtime crashes, improving overall application stability. Flatpak manifests have been expanded to include read-only permissions for /run/media, granting access to external drives within the sandboxed environment. The release also addresses several key fixes, including improved library management for non-Steam folders and corrections for the OptiScaler utility regarding driver controls, global config synchronization, and default INI file seeding. Furthermore, dynamic config path switching has been implemented for the Vulkan layers VkBasalt and VkSumi, allowing for better synchronization when different game cards are selected. Minor improvements include corrected default FPS and frametime color mapping across MangoHud themes.
