Khronos Details VK_EXT_present_timing for Advanced Vulkan Frame Pacing

Khronos today published a blog post detailing the frame pacing and timing feedback.">VK_EXT_present_timing Vulkan extension, which focuses on advanced frame pacing techniques. The extension integrates two primary features to enhance rendering consistency and animation smoothness. These include the ability for applications to receive timing feedback on previous presentation requests and to explicitly set a target presentation time for each new request. According to Khronos, "It is the combination of these features that enables applications to achieve smooth, consistent animation." This synchronization capability allows developers to achieve state-of-the-art frame pacing in Vulkan applications, crucial for an optimal user experience in graphically intensive workloads.
