RenderDoc v1.44 Released; Notes AMD Shader Debugging, Descriptor Buffer Issues
RenderDoc v1.44 has recently been released, bringing a series of bugfixes and consistency improvements to the GPU debugging tool. The release notes highlight known issues that developers should be aware of. According to the release, "currently AMD's official drivers contain a reported bug that may cause any shader debugging that depends on multiple threads to fail to debug correctly." Additionally, issues with using VK_EXT_descriptor_buffer, previously noted in the v1.40 release, persist. For Windows users, the code signing key for builds has changed since v1.42, which may lead to security warnings despite correct setup. Binary builds are available on renderdoc.org/builds.
