RenderDoc v1.42 Introduces Limited OpenGL Shader Debugging Support
RenderDoc v1.42 was released today, introducing limited support for shader debugging on OpenGL. This new functionality requires modern shader code and contemporary drivers, and is expected to support a minority of shaders and driver configurations. The release notes indicate that "AMD's official drivers contain a reported bug that may cause any shader debugging that depends on multiple threads to fail to debug correctly." Additionally, users may encounter problems when using the Vulkan extension VK_EXT_descriptor_buffer, a known issue previously noted in the v1.40 release. Binary builds for the new version are available on renderdoc.org.
